The Yatharth Geeta offers an in-depth and authentic exposition of the Sri Bhagavad Gita, spanning an extensive 5200-year interpretative tradition.

Referred to as the Science of Religion for Humanity, the Yatharth Geeta seeks to present the true essence of the Gita’s teachings.

Understanding what Shri Krishna truly felt and experienced when delivering the Gita remains beyond words; such inner sentiments are often conveyed through body language or must be realized through personal spiritual effort. Only a seeker who has attained the spiritual state achieved by Shri Krishna can genuinely comprehend these depths. Such a realized teacher perceives the Gita not merely through recitation but as an experiential understanding, revealing inner feelings and guiding others along the path to enlightenment.

Rev. Shri Paramhansji Maharaj was a spiritual master of profound realization, whose insights and blessings form the foundation of this interpretation—the ‘Yatharth Geeta’. This work encapsulates his unique perspective, bridging the gap between scriptural knowledge and experiential revelation.

The author of the Yatharth Geeta, Swami Adgadanand, is a saint whose formal education is limited; however, his spiritual discernment is richly cultivated through the grace of an accomplished Guru and sustained meditation. He regards writing as a potential obstacle on the ascent toward Supreme Beatitude, yet acknowledges that this work was divinely inspired. The Supreme Being revealed to him that his mental attitudes had been purified, except for a minor tendency towards writing—an impulse that persisted despite his efforts to suppress it through meditation. Consequently, this treatise came into existence, with divine correction of any errors by the Supreme Being itself.

We present this book with the hope that Swamiji’s guiding principle—‘internalized peace’—may manifest as peace for all humanity.

This work has garnered significant recognition. The title ‘Vishwagaurav’ (Pride of the World) was conferred upon Swami Ji by the World Religious Parliament during the last Mahakumbh at Haridwar, in the presence of prominent spiritual leaders from forty-four countries.

Similarly, in recognition of his scholarly contribution through ‘Yatharth Geeta’, he was honored with the title ‘Bharatgaurav’ (Pride of India) during the same Mahakumbh event on April 10, 1998.

Further acknowledgment came at Vishwa Dharam Sansad on January 26, 2001, during Mahakumbh festivities in Prayag. Swami Ji was honored as ‘Vishwaguru’ (Teacher of the World), acknowledging his service to humanity and society’s spiritual upliftment.

An excerpt from a distinguished judgment by Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. N. Srivastava of Allahabad High Court (dated August 30, 2007) affirms that:

• The Bhagavad Gita is a Dharmashastra applicable not only to Hindus but to all humanity.
• The message of the Gita remains relevant across religions and cultures worldwide.
